The short answer
The best ManyChat alternative depends on the channel you actually sell on. For a WhatsApp-first inbox, Wati from US$59 a month or Interakt from US$55. For multi-channel at scale, respond.io from US$79 with AI from US$159. For Asia-focused omnichannel, SleekFlow, which has a free plan. For developers, Twilio at about US$0.005 a message. And if nobody on your team will operate the tool, a managed agent instead of software.
First, the case for staying on ManyChat
ManyChat is genuinely the right answer if Instagram and Facebook are where your customers reach you. That is its home ground, its flow builder is the most approachable in the category, and the free plan is real rather than a trial. People usually leave for one of three reasons: WhatsApp turns out to be their main channel and ManyChat treats it as a secondary one, per-contact pricing climbs faster than expected as the list grows, or they wanted an AI that holds a conversation and got a flow builder that follows a script. If none of those is biting, switching will cost you more in setup time than it saves.
The alternatives, by the job they do
These tools are not interchangeable and comparing them on price alone will pick the wrong one. The column that matters most is the last one: who is going to operate this thing in month six.
| Tool | Best at | Published price | Who operates it |
|---|---|---|---|
| ManyChat | Instagram, TikTok and Facebook flows | Free, then from US$14/mo. WhatsApp from US$29/mo | You |
| Wati | A WhatsApp-first shared team inbox | From US$59/mo billed annually | You |
| Interakt | WhatsApp plus Instagram with a light CRM | From US$55/mo | You |
| respond.io | Multi-channel inbox and sales pipeline at scale | From US$79/mo, AI from US$159/mo | Your ops team |
| SleekFlow | Omnichannel selling for Asia-based brands | Free plan, paid AI from HK$1,199/mo for 3 users | You |
| AiSensy | Low-cost broadcast volume | From about ₹3,500/mo, AI add-on about US$42/mo | You |
| Gallabox | Lead capture and a shared sales inbox | Basic ₹2,999/mo billed quarterly, about US$120 | You |
| Twilio | Building your own on an API | About US$0.005 a message, no subscription | Your developers |
| 41 Closer | A managed agent when nobody will run software | From S$690/mo, operated for you | 41 Labs |
How to choose in five minutes
Answer three questions honestly. Which channel do your customers actually message you on? Not which you wish they used. If it is WhatsApp, buy a WhatsApp-first tool. If it is Instagram, buy a social-first one. Who owns this in month six? Every platform here needs a person to build flows, fix template rejections and keep follow-ups current, and the most common failure is not choosing wrong but choosing well and then nobody maintaining it. What is one enquiry worth? At twenty dollars, buy the cheapest thing that works. At two thousand, the difference between a reply in five minutes and a reply tomorrow morning is worth more than the entire software bill.
The option that is not software
Every tool above is something your team runs. That is the right shape if you have someone to run it. If you do not, the honest alternative is a managed service, where the agent is built, operated and tuned for you and nothing lands on your team's plate. That is what 41 Closer is, from S$690 a month, and we would rather say plainly that it is the wrong purchase if you have a capable ops person who enjoys this work. In that case buy Wati or respond.io and keep the difference.
Worth knowing before you decide either way: we messaged 25 Singapore businesses on WhatsApp in the evening and timed the replies. The median wait for a human answer was 13.3 hours and four never replied at all. The full study is here. Whichever tool you pick, that gap is the thing you are actually buying your way out of.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best alternative to ManyChat?
There is no single best, only the best for the channel you sell on. For a WhatsApp-first inbox, Wati at US$59 a month or Interakt at US$55. For multi-channel at scale, respond.io from US$79 with AI from US$159. For Asia-focused omnichannel, SleekFlow, which has a free plan. For social-first selling, ManyChat from US$14. For developers, Twilio at about US$0.005 a message. If the honest problem is that nobody on your team will operate any of them, the alternative is a managed service rather than another piece of software. Prices checked 15 September 2026.
How much does ManyChat cost?
ManyChat publishes Free, then US$14, US$29, US$69 and US$139 a month, with WhatsApp available from the US$29 tier upward. Meta's own per-conversation WhatsApp fee is charged on top, and it is easy to underestimate at volume. Checked 15 September 2026. Two things to price properly before comparing: whether the AI features you want sit on the plan you are quoting or an upgrade above it, and what additional users cost, because on several platforms in this category the seat price rather than the base plan is what grows the bill.
Is it worth switching from ManyChat?
Usually not, unless one specific thing is broken. Migration costs a fortnight of somebody's attention: rebuilding flows, re-approving message templates with Meta, retraining the team, and re-testing everything. That is worth paying if you are on the wrong channel, if seat costs have outgrown the value, or if you need an AI that quotes from a real price list rather than following a script. It is not worth paying to save twenty dollars a month. Write down the one thing that is actually failing before you shop, and if you cannot name it, stay.
Do I have to change my WhatsApp number if I switch platforms?
No, but it is the step that most often goes wrong. Your WhatsApp Business API number is registered to a Meta Business account, and moving it means migrating between Business Solution Providers rather than getting a new number. It is a supported process and it takes a few days. Two cautions: you cannot use the WhatsApp Business app and the API on the same number at once, and message templates usually have to be resubmitted for approval on the new provider. Plan the switch for a quiet week, not a campaign week.
